Hi there! I'm Missy—lover of all things Christmas, furry friends, and thoughtful gestures—and owner of Ardmore & Co. I thought I’d share a bit about the journey that led me here and the "why" behind Ardmore & Co.
I spent over a decade as a Registered Nurse, mostly in the fast-paced world of Emergency Rooms. Oddly enough, I’m the kind of person who gets dizzy at the sight of blood, even in a hospital parking lot! But I chose nursing, and eventually started Ardmore & Co., for a similar reason: the joy of connecting with people and the magic of small, thoughtful acts. Still, as much as I loved caring for others, the medical field left little room for creative expression. I was running on caffeine, willpower, and a deep-seated desire to keep pushing through—but I realized that I needed a shift.
Over the years, I explored (many!) creative avenues, searching for a way to bring my love for human connection into something that felt true to me. I always loved making crafty, meaningful things for others, a passion I inherited from my mom and grandma. My mom made every gift special, with carefully tied ribbons and heartfelt notes, and my grandma and I even mailed each other handwritten cards, though we lived only two hours apart. These simple yet thoughtful acts taught me the true power of connection.
Fast forward to today: I moved from Canada to beautiful Hermosa Beach, California—where Ardmore & Co. came to life. I knew I wanted to create a heart-centered business that celebrated kindness and connection in ways my nursing career couldn’t. Ardmore & Co. was born out of a desire to make every gift an expression of love and appreciation.
