As a small business owner, I’m always looking for ways to reduce waste and feel good about what I am putting out there —so I was excited to find Noissue and their selection of compostable products. I decided to try out their Custom Packing Tape and it has finally arrived!
NoIssue’s compostable tape is not only eco-friendly but also it states it is just as reliable as its plastic counterpart. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy the design process was with them, and they even had a team to correspond with regarding design to make sure everything was looking good by the time my order went to production.
I will say ordering the tape was easy, waiting for the tape to arrive took some patience, (especially in this era of 2 day deliveries !)- to put it in context I ordered January 16th and it arrived February 21st. I was, however, prepared for the wait as it stated on their website it would have a turn around time of 40-42 days.
Of course I wanted to test it out immediately and quickly realized it is going to be something to get use to! My order came with a sponge to be able to wet the tape and it no doubt feels odd applying something wet to boxes you try so hard to keep pristine! It went on easy but I can tell I am going to have to adjust my speed for a bit until I get used to this method of packing.
I think the benefits of switching to compostable tape are clear-. By choosing NoIssue’s , we’re working toward lowering our carbon footprint, contributing to less plastic in our oceans and landfills, and feeling good about what we are sending out the door. Plus, it feels great to know that our packaging materials are going back to nature instead of lingering in the environment for hundreds of years.
If you’re considering a change in your packaging strategy, I am no expert but maybe the answer is to start small! I am starting by making changes that aren't overwhelming & they can move the impact meter just a little bit!
